The Office Air Fryer Revolution

Nobody knows who brought the air fryer first.

One day the office kitchen was normal.
Sad, even.

A microwave that smelled faintly of regret.
Two suspicious forks.
And a fridge containing three abandoned yogurts from 2024.

Then suddenly…

There was an air fryer.

At first, people respected boundaries.

Small snacks.
Chicken nuggets.
Maybe leftover fries.

Harmless.

But by week two, the office had descended into culinary lawlessness.

Employees were cooking:

  • garlic bread
  • mini pizzas
  • sausage rolls
  • one entire fish fillet
  • and, alarmingly, steak

At work.

During business hours.

The smell spread through the building like psychological warfare.

Meetings became impossible.

Managers would be mid-sentence like:

“Let’s review quarterly perform—”
then suddenly pause and whisper:
“Is someone making mozzarella sticks?”

Yes.
Someone WAS making mozzarella sticks.

And honestly?
Productivity never recovered.

Trevor became the movement’s leader immediately.

Naturally.

Trevor started referring to the air fryer as:

“the community kitchen experience.”

Disturbing terminology.

He created an actual booking schedule on Excel titled:

“Fryer Slots.”

The office pretended to hate it.

But secretly?
People respected the organization.

Then came Cheryl from Admin.

Cheryl crossed a line nobody expected.

At 09:14 on a Tuesday morning, Cheryl arrived carrying:

  • eggs
  • bacon
  • mushrooms
  • bread
  • and enough ingredients to open a breakfast café

People laughed initially.

Then she produced extension cords.

The room became silent.

Within twenty minutes, Cheryl was making a full English breakfast beside the printer.

Coworkers gathered around emotionally.

Someone whispered:

“This feels illegal.”

Nobody stopped eating though.

Management eventually noticed when the entire office mysteriously disappeared every day around lunchtime.

An investigation began.

Linda from HR entered the kitchen and found:

  • Trevor seasoning chicken
  • Jason making toasted wraps
  • and Kyle filming “air fryer content” for TikTok

The office had become a food court.

An emergency email was sent immediately:

“Please remember the office kitchen is not intended for full meal preparation.”

Fair.
Reasonable.
Professional.

Unfortunately…

Nobody listened.

The rebellion peaked on Friday.

Trevor announced:

“Air Fryer Friday.”

The phrase alone should’ve triggered intervention.

Employees arrived carrying ingredients like contestants on MasterChef.

Someone brought burger patties.
Someone brought croissants.
One woman brought prawns which honestly felt aggressive.

At 12:03, the power tripped.

Entire floor gone.

Computers dead.
WiFi gone.
Absolute darkness.

Silence filled the office.

Then slowly…

From the kitchen…

The air fryer beeped one final time.

Like a fallen soldier.

IT restored power an hour later, but management had already made their decision.

The air fryer was banned.

People took it personally.

Trevor described the announcement as:

“an attack on innovation.”

Jason openly whispered:

“This company hates joy.”

Strong reactions honestly.

The air fryer disappeared the following Monday.

No goodbye.
No closure.
Just gone.

But legends never truly die.

To this day, employees still speak about:

“The Fryer Era.”

And honestly?

Those were probably the happiest weeks the office ever had.
